While a feud rages in the family of Bhagat Singh — over an invitation sent by the martyr’s grandnephew to Gujarat CM Narendra Modi for releasing a coffee table book on Bhagat Singh’s jail diary. The “split” in the family – on ideological lines – was apparent after Yadwinder Singh Sandhu, the grandson of Kulbir Singh, met Modi with the request to release the book. Sandhu told TOI that Modi has agreed to release the book, published by the All-India Shaheed Bhagat Singh Memorial Trust.

Narendra Modi seeks French help for defence equipment manufacturing in Gujarat
Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi met Ambassador of France to India Francois Richier in Gandhinagar and discussed potential areas for partnership. Modi sought French co-operation to develop the defence equipment manufacturing sector in Gujarat and providing engineering expertise to create trained manpower in this field, it added. “A business delegation from France led by its envoy to India Francois Richier held a one-to-one meet with Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday. Fruitful discussions on developing partnership with Gujarat emerged from the meet,” an official statement issued by the state information department said here.

The Pathani kurta is long-sleeved, collared worn mostly by Muslim men. Now whether it is a fashion choice to project a secular image or a simple makeover attempt, it will definitely make for a good picture.

Harshvardhan, a practicing ENT specialist who earned the reputation of being an effective health administrator in the previous BJP rule, is back in the reckoning as the party’s face for the Delhi assembly elections after hectic confabulations among party leaders on Tuesday. Nitin Gadkari, former BJP president and in-charge of Delhi elections, discussed Harshvardhan’s name with senior colleagues, including LK Advani.
